BREAK AND ENTERS - SEVERAL REPORTED

THE FORT MCMURRAY CRIME STOPPERS ASSOCIATION IS ASKING FOR THE PUBLICS ASSISTANCE IN SOLVING THE FOLLOWING CRIME:

Beginning in December (2002), and now continuing into January (2003), there have been several Break and Enters in the city. The Break and Enters are occurring during the day to homes that residents are away from. It believed that unknown person(s) are knocking on the door or ringing the doorbell to determine if anyone is home. If someone answers the door an excuse is made for the knock and the thieves move on. If there is not a response from someone inside the home, the home is broken into, sometimes entering through an unlocked door. RCMP are reminding homeowners to lock the doors to their homes and to report suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
